Kitsplit, an ever growing online marketplace for camera and gear rentals within your community (think of the airbnb for renting film equipment) hosted alongside Zeiss Lenses an in depth cinematography workshop led by award winning cinematographer Eve Cohen at Firelight Studio last month. The event was a success- a full house of avid creatives listened as Eve explained how to bring a project to fruition from its initial stages to its final cut and distribution. She incorporated real world examples from her multitude of years working on independent features to television series, documentaries and even cinematic virtual reality. Subsequent her interactive talk, a Zeiss representative was present to display and answer any questions the crowd may have had about their lenses. To stay up to date and attend future events like this- follow us on instagram and subscribe to Stories by the Firelight. PS: We rent some of our gear on Kitsplit as well, so if you are ever in need, don’t hesitate to reach out!
As a a follow up to Eve Cohen’s class on cinematography, director of photography Luke Geissbuhler came to teach a crash course on lighting. Luke is an accomplished DP, having worked on over 50 features, prominent ones including HELVETICA and Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat as well as an array of documentaries and commercials . We look forward to continue hosting these insightful classes.
